September is recognized as Life Literacy Month, ABC Life Literacy Canada encourages all Canadians to try something new, whether it be going back to school, upgrading your skills or learning a new activity.
“Life Literacy Month is a great opportunity to celebrate literacy and learning,” says Margaret Eaton, ABC Life Literacy Canada president. “We know that children will be going back to school to learn, but we also want to encourage adults to embrace learning opportunities and keep their skills sharp.”
Literacy is a tool that affects many aspects of our lives – at home, at work and in the community. Four out of 10 adult Canadians, age 16 to 65, struggle with low literacy.
